Ivana Trump, originally from Czechoslovakia, married the US President in 1997. The couple was together for 15 years before their relationship turned sour and they got divorced in 1992. They have three children together, Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr, and Eric Trump.
Over the course of their relationship, Ivana started a career in the Trump Organization, working as the Vice President of interior design, and later as the president of Trump's casino in Atlantic City and the Plaza hotel.
According to 2017 documentary “Trump: An American Dream”, tension in their marriage became obvious when, while working at the Plaza hotel, Ivana started considering herself “his equal”.
Barbara Res, one of Trump's closest former allies, revealed: “They had a party for her, and he was just a fixture at it.
“He was just another person.

“And he was seething, and I could tell he was angry about it
“He couldn’t stand the fact that people at the Plaza deferred to her.
“Trump was very, very angry at Ivana.
“He dissed her.”
Ms. Res also recalled taking Mr. Trump for a walk through the hotel to show him what his wife had done with the furniture in the apartments.

She claimed when he saw the furniture, he got “irate” and went “berserk”.
She added: "He was horrible to her. Horrible.
"Where they had been so respectful of each other, and what I thought, genuinely love each other
"He now was just mean to her, and a monster.
