US President Donald Trump who has lost his brother, Fred, over alcoholism is donating $100,000 of his 2018 salary to research on alcoholism.
As a result, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, a subsidiary of the National Institute of Health, would receive the donation, the White House confirmed to The Hill Saturday evening.

According to Press TV, Trump has frequently has cited his brother’s death and alcohol problem as a reason not to drink.
The president donated the same amount, his quarterly salary, to the Small Business Administration (SBA) run by Linda McMahon in October.
"It will be put to good use," McMahon said at the time, adding that it would be used for SBA's "Emerging Leaders" program.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, the New York billionaire had vowed to donate his $400,000 presidential salary if he won the White House.
Trump allegedly also donates money to the Transportation Department, the National Park Service and the Department of Education.
The Health and Human Services Department is apparently among the recipients of Trump’s donations to fight the opioid epidemic gripping the United States.
